SIC (US 1987) : New to the Institute this year is a partnership with The Learning Community, a public charter school located in Central Falls, RI. It serves students K-8 with out of the box thinking and unique programming. The Learning Community is able to teach topics such as nonviolence in substantial ways.
Our Training Department works with Learning Community students to address what violence looks like in their lives, what nonviolence and violence really mean, how to employ nonviolent methods, and how nonviolence begins with self, then extends to peers and community.
